The transformation of Bernard into the infamous figure known as "The Debauched" began subtly. It started with late nights at the winery, where he would indulge in his own products, claiming they were "research" for new vintages. These sessions, initially solitary, soon included a rotating cast of characters from the seedier side of Ashwood's nightlife. There was Lola, the enigmatic dancer from the local club; Jake, a charismatic smuggler with a penchant for rare spirits; and Sister Mary, a former nun with a taste for the finer things in life and a penchant for preaching the gospel of hedonism.

Bernard's life became a blur of excess. Days blended into nights, filled with wine, women, and song. The boundaries between right and wrong blurred, and he found himself participating in acts he once would have condemned. The town of Ashwood whispered about the goings-on at the winery, but few dared to confront Bernard. He had become a shadow of his former self, a man driven by his basest desires.
