Lena booted it up. The CRT filter flickered. Title card: a pixelated throat with glowing red tonsils. She selected her save file—987 hours logged—and hit Zone 9. The run was perfect
On her desktop, a new text file appeared: THANK_YOU_FOR_PLAYING.txt the same one from the avatar
Lena sat in the silence. The patch notes, the double entendre, the ridiculous name—it had all been a disguise. v1.21.1b wasn’t a bug fix.
But v1.21.1b promised a fix.
