Page 258 in some editions touches on Surah Al-Munafiqun . Here, the Imam translates the description of hypocrites with piercing clarity: “They use their oaths as a shield, then they turn away from the path of Allah.” The remedy? Sincere muhabbat (love) of Allah, which automatically expels show-off behavior.

There are some pages in a Mushaf that stop you in your tracks. Page 258 of Kanzul Iman (Imam Ahmad Raza Khan’s iconic Urdu translation) is one of them. It carries a powerful message about the nature of true faith, the company we keep, and the kind of love Allah has for His believers.

“O you who have believed, whoever of you should revert from his religion… Allah will bring forth a people He loves and who love Him…” Imam Ahmad Raza’s translation of this verse is not just a word-for-word rendering; it is a spiritual commentary. On page 258, he translates the phrase “Yuhhibuhum wa yuhibbonah” with a profound intensity: “Allah un se muhabbat rakhta hai aur woh Allah se muhabbat rakhte hain” (Allah bears love for them, and they bear love for Him).
