While the My World EP (released late 2009) introduced us to him, 2.0 was the real arrival. Let’s break down why this album remains a guilty pleasure (and sometimes just a pleasure) 14 years later. Let’s get the elephant in the room out of the way. "Baby" (feat. Ludacris) is the most polarizing pop song of its era. You either screamed the lyrics at a school dance, or you were the older sibling rolling your eyes in the car.

with Sean Kingston is the perfect example. It’s a tropical dancehall track that sounds like it belongs in a Zumba class. It’s silly, but it has 400 million streams for a reason. Where does it rank today? Objectively, My World 2.0 isn't Purpose or Justice . He doesn't have the vocal maturity or the emotional depth yet. But that’s the point.
