1. What is EmuELEC? EmuELEC is a lightweight, Linux-based operating system designed specifically for retro gaming . It bundles EmulationStation (frontend) and RetroArch / Libretro cores (backend) with dozens of standalone emulators.

Originally created for (S905/S912), the x86 version allows you to run the same streamlined, gamepad-focused experience on standard PC hardware. Key point: EmuELEC x86 is not a program you install inside Windows. You flash it to a USB drive or SSD and boot directly into it, turning any PC into a dedicated retro console. 2.
