Long before the reality TV panels, Daniela Romo was pop sensation who taught a generation that it was okay to be vulnerable, powerful, and theatrical all at once. The Voice That Defied the Ballad Daniele Romo didn’t just sing; she performed. Born Teresa Presmanes Corona, she burst onto the scene in the early 80s with a sound that was radically different from the folkloric ranchera or the soft, sugary ballads of the time. She brought theater to pop.

She proved that you could be strong and sensitive. That you could cry on a ballad and then stomp your heels on a disco track two minutes later.
