Aliya, a 34-year-old former couture buyer turned design anthropologist, founded Min not as a store, but as a “living style library.” The Birth of an Obsession Growing up in a house of maximalists—her mother a Banarasi saree collector, her grandmother a lover of heavy Kundan—Aliya felt suffocated by ornament. “Every family gathering was a competition of embroidery density,” she laughs.
